Some more formula:

Cube:

Diagonal of the cube = 3  a units

Cuboid:

Diagonal of the cuboid =12 + b2 + h2  units. Area of four walls of a room = 1h + 1h + bh + bh = 2(1 + b)h

Right circular hollow cylinder:

Let R and r be the external and internal radii of a hollow cylinder of height h. Then,

(i) Area of each end  = (R2  r2) (ii) Curved surface area of hollow cylinder

= External surface area + Internal surface area

= 2πRh + 2πrh = 2πh(R + r)
(iii) Total surface area = 2πRh + 2πrh + 2(πR2  πr2)
= 2πh (R + r) + 2π  (R + r)(R  r)
= 2π (R + r) (R + h  r)
(iv) Volume of material =  External volume  Internal volume
= πR2h   πr2h
= πh (R2   r2)

Spherical shell:

If R and r are respectively the outer and inner radii of a spherical shell, then

(i) Outer surface area   = 4πR2
(ii) Volume of material = 4π(R3  r3)
